With full decked burlap gear, this allows for 21% radiation protection, allowing you to go into airfields.

At launch site with a hazmat suit you will always take radiation. But with a riot helmet, bandana mask, swimsuit, tactical gloves, frog boots, armored pants, and hide poncho, you cannot take radiation

Frogboots use the same footstep sounds as bare feet, which I don’t remember being the case before. I recall them sounding like hide boots or a hazmat suit, so this might just be a current bug.
Unfortunately, they don’t provide any projectile protection, but they do offer some radiation and cold protection, which is still useful.
