Road Sign

The signs found among roads are now harvestable, as of the November 5th update. Commonly found alongside roads, harvesting them with a tool will give a pipe and a roadsign component. They can be found as stop signs, turn signs, and other signs. They are harvestable with most tools, doing various amounts of damage. Be careful, as they can heavily damage some tools.

You can 2-shot these with a Mace, while taking close to no damage.

Honestly, these are pretty good for getting HQM(plus a little bit of scrap as well), they only have 100 hp, spawn along the road, and nobody ever breaks them so there are always tons of them.

You can destroy them instantly by crashing them with a car, if done correctly your car will not lose too much hp.

{Road Signs 100hp}
Running them over with your car works, but will cut into your HQM gains in car repairs.
After the horse update (Feb2025), I found you can sideswipe the signs with a horse and if it doesn't fully knock it over, it'll be one rock or paddle hit to finish it off. (It completely depends on how fast you were going when you hit it.)
  • If you do it perfectly, as the horse just starts to gallop, you can one shot the RS with a sideswipe and the horse will take no dmg.
  • More commonly, you'll come in a little too direct, and the horse might take 40-50dmg.
  • If you hit the RS directly, horse will ragdoll for a moment and take ~90dmg.

I've more recently tried this with RS Horse Armor equipped and there definitely seems to be a reduction in dmg to the horse comparable to the 25% Melee protection, but I didn't fully compare numbers.
Might be a nice tip to use early wipe, if you find yourself at Outpost without a paddle. Just keep an eye out for horse thieves.. On top of which, I'd caution on practicing the trick there.
