Bone Armor is sometimes exploited by players looking to avoid detection by the attach helicopter. Since the Heli only attacks if a player has more than 2 slots of clothing filled, the bone armor set is a viable option when it comes to protection. Taking up only 2 slots of armor, the Bone set will offer sufficient protection and avoid detection by the heli.

The Bone Armor has 5% more projectile protection than a Road Sign Jacket (no clothing), making it a viable option for the first day or two of wipe. Unfortunately the downside to Bone Armor is that you cannot wear any clothes affecting anything from the neck and below.
I recommend using the Bone Armor with a Riot Helmet for an all around 25% projectile protection.

Perfect combo with riot helmet / bucket helmet / wolf helmet with bandana couse it gives you 10 radiation immunity for the most rad monument such as doom / water treatment / airfield / sewer brench / train yard (without the blue card building and the water collector tower) also good for the most part in lounch site

Excellent choice in desert biomes as it circumvents the Heat problem while offering 25% projectile protection from head to toe when paired with the bone Helmet.
