The Stone Spear is slightly more durable and does more damage than the Wooden Spear. The Stone Spear will cause critical bleeding (high percentage bleeding). The Stone Spear, like the Wooden Spear, is throwable. After being thrown it will become stuck in the place it had hit (even in the target). You can pick it up by pressing the Use button (default 'E').

To stab more quickly with a spear, have 2 in your hotbar, stab, and immediately after the stab makes contact with whatever it is touching, switch to the other spear. This will give you about 1 more second of quick spear stab animation. This is good for spear raiding and farming barrels. This also applies with the Wooden Spear.

Cheap and decent upgrade for a wooden spear you will have easier time destroying barrels and killing nakeds.But it will ruin your day when found in an elite crate.

If you run away from someone while they're reloading their crossbow or water pipe, etc. use alt to see where they are then you can turn on them and throw the spear at them and it might down them as it does 75 damage if you throw it in their head or 70 if you stab them in the head with it

While bigger barrels (50hp) take 3 hits with wooden spear to destroy, it only takes two with stone one.

best use for one of these when found on a heavy or an elite crate is to chuck it at the locked crate's timer to make it vanish. Only downside is the 6-10 seconds of extra time on the locked crate.

Buffed December 2022, decreased crafting cost by 30 stone, from 50 to 20 and decreased crafting time from 30s to 10s.

The stone spear is very effective for underwater combat as it can be thrown underwater. Also applies for Wooden Spear
