If you're running low on Gun Powder this may be a viable option to recycle as they're easy to obtain via a variety of ways (scientists, crates, guards etc.).

Very usefull against scientists in the military tunnels. Suprisingly good.
If you don't have any weapons or equipment, you can throw these into groups or bases of other people at nighttime and draw attention to them, leading to fights, to corpses and free gear.
