- 59 meters is the max sound range for any tool.

The best pickaxe skin in the game is the Prototype Pickaxe from the Lumberjack Hazmat Pack.
- The pickaxe seems to hit or "impact" faster than a normal pickaxe. It feels closer to the speed of a hatchet. Possibly, since it appears to be a one-handed item, the values weren’t adjusted properly (Not a game developer, so that’s just a guess.)
- You can test this in-game by comparing pickaxes on a creative server. When hitting, the Prototype Pickaxe impacts the node, player, or animal slightly faster.
- It has a smaller hitbox, so you’re more likely to notice people trying to flank you out of the corner of your eye while farming.
- In my testing, it also seems to be very slightly quieter than a normal pickaxe.

Road Farming overview tl;dr:
Metal Pickaxe is #9 for barrel farming, and #10 for roadsign farming
Not the best for farming the road, but better than a rock or bone knife during your ore/stone runs if you want to grab some barrels along the way.
