Military Silencer

The Silencer is a barrel attachment known to reduce gunfire sounds. It also removes the muzzle flash, giving you a good advantage during night without being spotted. It is quite useful against unaware enemies, and can allow you to get in extra hits before being spotted. Although the disadvantages can make short range battles go wrong. It is a good option for Bolt Action Rifles and L96s as the Silencer completely hides the bullet tracers, making the enemies confused where it came from, though it will reduce the velocity of the gun, meaning that you will need to aim a bit higher than usual to hit your opponent.

  • Silenced Guns have a 39 meter sound range as opposed unsilenced guns which have a 285-300 meter sound range (player render distance)

The Silencer is a good choice for contesting airdrops from a distance as the lack of noise and tracers make it untraceable for the target. As long as you have a good hiding spot, you can take out anyone without them knowing.

Equipping an attachment will make a sharp, distinct noise, which will completely give away your position to anyone within earshot. Do this well in advance if stealth is your priority.

Avoid using the Silencer for general PVP as the damage reduction can have a serious effect on the outcome.

Silencers are perfect to keep on your character for specific situations, especially that they are cheap.
- You can scare away animals that come too close to you, it will prevent you from taking heavy damage, or giving away your position because of an unfortunate bear..
- It is perfect for solo's against groups of 2 or 3. It is quite difficult to locate where the shots are coming from, and will allow you to pick off a teammate or 2 before being spotted.
- It pairs amazing with the L96 for a lethal silent weapon. The velocity penalty with the suppressor is neglectable on the L96, and it will allow you to heavily injure or kill opponents silently from a safe distance. Its perfect for cleaning up fights.
- It can be paired with explosive ammo for Medium effectiveness. It is considerably louder than all other ammo sounds. Explosive ammo suppressed can be heard from roughly 2 squares away. Note though, that the silencer will loose durability considerably faster than with regular ammo, so be sure to bring multiple if you plan on preforming a larger raid.
- Final note, suppressors do not need to be paired with the darkness for effective usage. Even using it to start off a fight, and quickly taking it off when spotted will still give you an upper hand.

If you use normal, incendiary, or HV ammo, the suppressor will always last for 400 shots before breaking. The type of gun does not affect its durability.

Explosive ammo will eat through the can. It will break after 133 shots.

Silence is a very good combo with the explosive ammo! This is the best way to raid metal and armored things silently!

The silencers reduction in sway, hip aim cone, and ADS aim cone, along with its ability to become completely silent when shooting from a short distance, make it a great choice for those who are new to the game or are bad at managing recoil.
