Supply Drop

This container is seldom seen, as it is typically dropped out of a flying cargo plane with a parachute to slow its descent. Once the drop lands on the ground, it can be looted and may yield useful end-game gear (usually combat-oriented items). You can loot this container by pressing the Use key ("E" by default). The player should take care attempting to loot a Supply Drop as chances are, due to the high quality of the loot inside, as well as the visibility of the drop location, other players will also be headed to the package. You may have to fight other players to gain access to the items inside. All Supply Drops are guaranteed to contain some resources, armor, explosives, and one or two weapons.

It's one of the best containers in game, but only on paper... It often drops a lot of ammo which is a good thing if you need it or gunpowder from it, but besides it has small chances to drop something rare. If you're playing on small servers like me, there shouldn't be too much risk to get killed while looting it, but I don't recommend going for it on high population servers. It's just not worth it, hackable crate is much more profitable. Try to plan before looting it, or you'll get killed because of other players.

For no reason at all, a Compound Bow can be used to destroy the parachute, although it would fall at the same speed.

You can cause a supply drop in an exact area by using a supply signal. If you choose to do this near or on your base expect to get raided.

Depending on the local newman population, even if it were to be low, it will always be necessary to secure a Supply Drop with the help of a group of friends or allies. Dropping a Supply Signal on your base, as long as it is big, walled off and secured enough to ward off any pesky naked newmans, is the better choice. In case of an attack, it will always be geared players. Knowing the surroundings of your base better than anyone else will allow you to use this knowledge to your advantage to be able to tell where the enemy is. Beware, as a Supply Drop may not always land exactly where the smoke signal is, but it's pretty precise. It would definitely land within a 3x3 size of foundations though, but always drop a Supply Signal in the center of your base so it doesn't happen to get outside your base's walls.

If you are struggling to defend a Supply Drop, shoot at the bottom of the Supply Drop with any type of bow. This should stop the Supply Drop mid-air and possibly buy you some time. If you hit the dead center of an airdrop with an arrow it will completely stop it until the arrow has despawned, this can be crucial depending on the situation.
