This is a great way to extend the range of your shotgun, but due to damage dropoff it will be less effective at range than a rifle. 30-50m away slug can take 3 shots to down while a semi-auto rifle will take 4.

Nerfed December 2022, fat rip, falloff now makes the slug deal only 50% damage after 40 meters which is the same damage of a sar. The slug was pretty OP but i'm not so sure this was the right way to nerf it as now, it isn't really viable for taking any enemy above prim.
