During a raid defense, if there is a FOB and a guy on top using an M249 with incendiary ammo, it can save your life while trying to seal the breach or maneuver around the base/compound, as it blocks a large portion of your hitbox.

If using a left handed viewmodel, the hitbox of the shield does not flip, and will always remain on the right side of the player.
